Factories are known to be humongous sheds, with the only function being to relate and respond to function. At the Delux factory at Surendranagar, designed to manufacture ball bearings, the very same industrial materials have been used to align to a rhythm; in its curved bays, structured landscape dotted with trees, to relieve the otherwise overbearing largeness. The idea of scalloped walls (facade) was inspired from the structure of a caterpillar's skin that infuses light and ventilation.
